Il Barile da Mario Bar Restaurant

The food is amazing. My husband and I were walking around town trying to find an early lunch cafe. We passed by this restaurant and stepped in. The food is extremely fresh, home made and the taste is just pure and good. Highly recommend this restaurant!

One star is for the decoration. We had pasta, one portion with pesto, one with tomato sauce. Both tasted like ready-made sauce. The portions were so small that we had to visit another restaurant after we left this one. The food was completely overpriced. Service was unfriendly.

Expensive and not worth it. I would go as far as calling it a scam. Food is heated up in the microwave. Prices are excluding Tax and Service charge, which isn't mentioned anywhere. Menu says price in Nafl, but turns out they charge it in USD... Avoid.

2024: And again still....: our favourite spot to go to to see Signora, Charine and super nice to also meet Monica! We had to visit so many other people these two weeks that we only had the chance to visit Il Barile da Mario twice. But we'll always be back! Danki Charine for showing me Playa di Charine! 😉 All left to say is, see you guys next year or the year after! ❤️ 2022: And still....: our favourite spot to refuel and sit for a few to watch (cruiseship) people walk by, enjoy the music of Tik-Tak accross the street and also have a true Italian lunch (and dinner on Thursday nights) here. The place spreads happiness. We will never fail to sit down and have a drink here while on Curacao. So should you. Enjoy. Cheers! 💃🏻😎🌴🍻

We had the truffle ravioli and tomato gnocchi, plus two beers. Our total was $76, which we thought was reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. Our entire trip has been filled with HORRIBLE service, so this place was a breath of fresh air. Our waitress was attentive and quick to bring not only our waters but also the food. She was truly delightful! We sat outside and enjoyed the locals passing by, as well as a gentle breeze. Definitely my favorite restaurant that we visited on the island!

Small little mom and pop Italian shop. We had lunch here where my friend had the seafood fish fantasy and I did the lobster pasta. We had the bruschetta for an appetizer. My noodles were cooked to perfection and the sauce was a simple butter, salt, garlic and oil. It was exactly right. Sometimes simple is best. My friend didn’t enjoy his fish but liked the shrimp and other parts. It’s expensive but they’re competing with bigger restaurants so I don’t mind because I like supporting small businesses. Definitely worth trying.

Second time here- the most delicious homemade food, the kindest staff, and the cutest atmosphere full of Marilyn Monroe things! Even the bathroom is cute :) Will come back whenever I’m in Curaçao. Really recommend the bruschetta, truffle ravioli, aglio e olio and the TIRAMISU!!
